IKAR Adjustable Work Positioning & Fall Restraint System - Length 7m - EN1891 & EN358:2002 - [IK-2WPK700]

Description:

With a 12mm diameter kernmantle rope; a small aluminium double action hook at the anchorage end and a stainless steel rope adjuster, the working line has both flexibility and strength. Manually pressing the rope adjuster allows it to be moved along the rope to the required work position; this pressure can be released at any time to allow the adjuster to automatically grip the rope.

A short 11mm kernmantle rope lanyard is permanently attached to the rope adjuster for connection to the harness. It is normal for the small aluminium double action hook on the end of this lanyard to be connected to the front attachment point on the harness, although it can attach to the rear D-ring if required.

This product can be used as an adjustable Restraint Lanyard as well as an adjustable Work Positioning System.

  • Length: 7.0m
  • Weight: 1.45kg

All rope used in these systems conform to EN 1891 as type ‘A’ semi-static rope and have very little stretch and energy absorption. It is vital therefore that these devices are NOT subjected to an arrested fall – they are designed as Personal Fall Prevention Equipment only.

Users of this type of system should be trained in its safe use and the applications it is designed to be used in. This should include selection of connectors, selection of a suitable anchor point and appropriate length for the application.

All fall protection equipment made from synthetic fibres available for use by an employee should be inspected by the User prior to use each and every time it is used (for which they should have been trained to do so) and at least every 6 months should be subjected to a Detailed Inspection by a competent person. The actual frequency of the Detailed Inspection by the competent person should be determined through ‘risk assessment’ taking into account the frequency of use and the environment it is being used in. The competent person carrying out the Detailed Inspection should have specific training to inspect fall protection PPE.
