3M Fit Test Kit - Qualitative - Sweet - [3M-FT-10]

Test kits and accessories designed to help your organisation meet regulatory fit testing requirements for tight fitting respirators. The kits can be used to validate face to respirator seal on any disposable respirator or half mask respirator. Not suitable for fit testing full facepiece respirators - this must be through Quantitative face fit testing.

The products can be used to validate face-to-respirator seal on any disposable respirators or half mask respirators. To fit test a halfmask respirator, it must be fitted with a P3 particulate filter for the fit test. 3M offers two Qualitative Fit Test Apparatus Kits FT-10 (Sweet) and FT-30 (Bitter). FT-10 uses a test solution of sodium saccharin that produces a sweet tasting aerosol. FT-30 uses a test solution of denatonium benzoate to produce a bitter taste. The choice between the bitter and sweet test kit is a personal one. However, a small percentage of the population is unable to detect saccharin in which case the bitter test must be used (and visa versa if the bitter cannot be detected then the sweet must be used). 3M recommends users are face-fit tested before using a respirator and repeated regularly as part of their occupational respiratory protection program.
